There’s something beautiful about the moment a child experiences live performance for the first time — the lights, the sound, the energy of a room full of people sharing something together. At the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, that magic is built right into the programming.
This spring, the Vilar’s Family Series brings four unforgettable shows to the stage designed to spark curiosity, ignite imagination, and prove that the arts truly are for everyone — no matter your age. The 2026 lineup includes Peppa Pig: My First Concert, Cirque Mechanics: TILT!, Netflix’s The Making of Our Planet: Life on Our Planet, and Dinosaur World Live!
“Sharing the arts with children at a young age is one of the most powerful opportunities we can create for them,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “The arts build empathy, creativity, and a sense of wonder that lasts a lifetime. The Vilar is a place where generations come together — where grandparents, parents, and children can experience the transformative impact of live performance side by side.”
Peppa Pig: My First Concert
Saturday, Feb. 28 | 6:00 p.m.
Part of The Therese M. Grojean Classical Series
Peppa Pig, along with Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and George, are coming to Beaver Creek for a fun, interactive introduction to live orchestral music designed for ages 18 months and older. Little ones will discover the sounds of different instruments, enjoy beloved music from the show performed by a live orchestra, and even get a chance to make music of their own alongside Peppa and her family.
Enhance your visit with a post-performance Meet and Greet Experience, which includes a photo opportunity with a character, a plush toy, and other surprises.
Cirque Mechanics: TILT!
Tuesday, March 3 | 6:30 p.m.
Rooted in the spirit of American ingenuity, Cirque Mechanics brings a raw, human energy to the circus arts that feels anything but ordinary. In TILT!, the company takes audiences to the back-lot of an inventive theme park — where in the shadow of the roller coaster and under the glow of the Ferris wheel, carnies, characters, and operators keep the thrills coming and the rides running. Expect jaw-dropping acrobatics, mechanical marvels, and just enough clowning around to keep the whole family grinning.
Netflix’s The Making of Our Planet: Life on Our Planet with Dan Tapster
Friday, April 3 | 6:30 p.m.
Part of the Love for the Locals Series
Eight-time Emmy-nominated Executive Producer Dan Tapster takes the stage for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at Netflix’s ambitious Life on Our Planet series — from the science behind Earth’s great extinction events to the groundbreaking filmmaking techniques used to bring prehistoric creatures back to life. The evening includes a live Q&A, making it a rare and thought-provoking opportunity to explore our planet’s history of resilience and discuss the urgent importance of conservation. This one is as educational as it is awe-inspiring.
Dinosaur World Live!
Thursday, April 9 | 6:30 p.m.
Get ready for roarsome fun for the whole family! Dinosaur World Live! brings a prehistoric world to the Vilar stage, complete with remarkably life-like dinosaurs including a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Giraffatitan, Microraptor, and Segnosaurus. This 2024 Olivier Award winner for Best Family Show is equal parts thrilling and educational — and brave explorers can meet their new dinosaur friends at a special meet and greet after the show.
