Premiere of Final Descent, A Short Film By Matt Shoulders

Matt Shoulders brings a Short Film Premiere of his piece Final Descent. All proceeds go to Ski and Snowboard Club Vail.

“FINAL DESCENT” FILM SYNOPSIS: Aaron Garrett is a rising star on the local ski team with the potential to be a national champion but is haunted by an alcoholic father and a terminally ill younger brother. Brothers Aaron and Danny were born with Alpine ski racing in their DNA. Their father, Richard Garrett, a former racer, made it his mission to see his son, Aaron standing tall on the Winners Podium. But like so many “parent-coaches’ who want their children to excel, Richard was an impatient, over-bearing taskmaster whose alcohol abuse turned him into a vindictive bully. Now, in the present day, as Aaron prepares for the biggest race of his career, he must overcome rivalries with his own ski team and coaching staff, avoid news reporters who are trying to expose his past and he must make a fateful decision between his own career and his dying brother’s final wishes. Aaron must overcome the abuse of his childhood as he heads for the starting gate of the most important race of his life in honor of his brother.
