In recognition of Dori and David Meyers’ unwavering passion for the performing arts and commitment to long-term facility excellence

The Vilar Performing Arts Center is proud to announce a transformational gift from Dori and David Meyers, rooted in the belief that the Vilar is one of our community’s greatest assets. Through the Meyers’ extraordinary generosity, that belief is now memorialized in a permanent fund that will strengthen the Vilar for generations to come.
The gift establishes the Eskenazi Meyers Theatre Fund, which will support facility capital projects, ongoing maintenance, and operational excellence, ensuring the Vilar remains a premier performing arts destination for artists and audiences alike.
In recognition of this landmark commitment and its enduring impact on this beloved community asset, the Vilar’s 530-seat theater will be named the Eskenazi Meyers Theatre, effective immediately, for a 30-year term. The name of the Vilar Performing Arts Center itself remains unchanged.
“This is a gift from the heart. Beaver Creek is a special place, and the Vilar is a big part of what makes it so,” said Dori and David Meyers. “Few places in the world present this level of talent while also doing so much to introduce young people to the arts and make those experiences more accessible for the community. It was important to us to help sustain that for the future, and we hope this inspires others to support the Vilar and the Vail Valley Foundation in whatever way they can. If our gift encourages others to invest in the organizations that make a difference to them and the communities in which they live, that would mean everything to us.”
The 30-year naming reflects the depth of Dori and David’s commitment to the performing arts in the Vail Valley, where they have become devoted supporters of the Vilar. Dori brings a uniquely personal connection to the performing arts: she built her career as a professional stage manager and arts festival producer before joining the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation as their Public Affairs Specialist, working with the Board of Directors and Executive team. She currently serves on the Vilar Committee of the Vail Valley Foundation.
“Dori and David are an integral part of the Vilar community, and we’re profoundly grateful for their vision, leadership, and generosity,” said Alexia Jurschak, Chair of the Vilar Committee. “Dori brings a rare combination of professional expertise and genuine passion to the Vilar Committee, and she and David have shown up for this community again and again. Having their family’s name on our theater is an honor we will carry with great pride.”
By strengthening the foundation of the Vilar facility itself, the Eskenazi Meyers Theatre Fund enables the Vilar to focus on what it does best: fulfilling its mission to entertain, educate and inspire our community through the transformative power of the performing arts.
“Gifts like this empower us to expand what’s possible and deepen our impact through the performing arts,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar. “Through this extraordinary investment, Dori and David are ensuring the Vilar remains a vibrant cultural cornerstone of this valley. Their gift elevates the experiences we create for artists and audiences and strengthens the community we serve. We’re honored to recognize their commitment through the Eskenazi Meyers Theatre name.”
The impact of the Eskenazi Meyers Theatre Fund will be felt by tens of thousands of people each year who engage with the Vilar. The Vilar annually presents more than 110 ticketed performances, welcomes 35,000+ attendees, provides 8,000+ free tickets to local students and community members through the Community Arts Access Program, and generates more than $19 million in annual economic impact in Eagle County. Through this fund, those experiences — and the broader cultural and economic benefits they create — are secured well into the future.
