Three best ways to frolic with the flowers this summer.

Life getting busy this summer? When was the last time you stopped to smell the flowers? With the sun rising high this summer, it’s the perfect time to explore the opportunities the valley has to offer for you and your family to connect with nature and the community. Here are our top three recommendations for you folks that love to frolic in the wildflowers that are popping up this time of year.

1) Farmer’s Markets – Interacting with your local farmer’s markets is one of the best ways to support your local community. From Edwards to Vail and to Minturn, there are a range of farmer markets within the valley. These markets scatter throughout the week and offer a variety of fresh produce, community artisanal goods, and sometimes even live music. Wildflower bouquets are a perfect purchase next to your peaches this summer and will offer color to any home while supporting your community with every dollar.

2) MOMIX: Botanica at the Vilar – If the drive up to Beaver Creek isn’t pretty enough with wildflowers highlighting the trails against the windy roads, the Vilar has a talent just for you. MOMIX is an internationally recognized dance-illusionist group that will be gracing the Vilar stage July 5th with their unforgettable act entitled Botanica. An eclectic score highlights the blooming marigolds and multicolored milkweed of the Colorado mountains. With elements of dance, music, and puppetry, the performance has something for all ages. The talent of these performers transcends the stage and allows anyone who watches it to enjoy the kaleidoscope of colors our wildflower season has to offer.

3) Hiking Trails – Sometimes the easiest way to see wildflowers is to simply venture outside. Luckily for you, the valley is home to over 100 miles of hiking trails. From your local river trails to your adventurous 14ers, there are trails for every age. Utilize local trail guides, maps, and apps and explore the colorful mountain ranges with friends on foot. The Town of Vail bus also offers certain destinations directly to trailheads. With all these options in mind, it is more accessible than ever to take a moment to smell the flowers.

Want to stretch your legs this summer? Hiking seems to be the answer to your quest to frolic. Want to invest in your community? Local markets have just what you need with a range of times, prices, and towns. Want to do both? Invest in your community by buying a ticket to MOMIX: Botanica during your July 4th weekend. Stretch your legs up to Beaver Creek and in our comfy seats at the Vilar. And enjoy all the hues of the Colorado Rockies without the heat as you frolic in our air-conditioned venue this summer

Let us at the Vilar bring the color of summer to you, hope to see you soon!
