Four nights of New Orleans funk, soul, and Afro-Cuban rhythms come to Beaver Creek in February
The Vilar Performing Arts Center is bringing the spirit of Mardi Gras to the mountains with an extraordinary four-night celebration of New Orleans music and culture, February 4-7, 2026. Headlining the festivities are The Revivalists, returning to the Vilar for two highly anticipated performances on February 6 and 7.
The eight-piece rock ‘n’ roll collective last performed at the Vilar in 2017 to a sold-out crowd. Since their last appearance, The Revivalists have achieved multiplatinum success and solidified their reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in modern rock. The New Orleans-formed band is renowned for their soulful alt-rock anthems and their distinct mix of classic American musical styles, driven by hits like the double-platinum single and Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Wish I Knew You.”
In addition to reserved seating, General Admission tickets will be available for the Orchestra Pit for the February performances, allowing fans to experience the show up close and dance the night away.
“We’ve been working to bring The Revivalists back to the Vilar since their unforgettable 2017 performance,” said Owen Hutchinson, Artistic Director at the Vilar. “The response from our community was overwhelming, and we knew we needed to find an opportunity for them to return. Their energy, musicianship, and ability to create genuine connections with an audience is unmatched. We are thrilled to welcome them back for two nights of celebration.”
The Mardi Gras weekend kicks off on February 4 with Cuban piano virtuoso Alfredo Rodriguez and master percussionist Pedrito Martinez in an intimate onstage performance, with audience members seated on the Vilar stage alongside the artists. Both born in Havana, the duo brings together Rodriguez’s classical training and Martinez’s folkloric Afro-Cuban roots to create an extraordinary and unique sound that echoes the deep Caribbean connections to New Orleans’ musical heritage.
On February 5, the celebration continues with A Celebration of The Meters, honoring the 50th anniversary of the legendary funk band’s seminal album Rejuvenation. Dumpstaphunk—the band led by Ivan Neville, son of The Meters’ Art Neville—will be joined by original Meters members George Porter Jr. and Cyril Neville for a night of pure New Orleans funk that defined a generation. The groundbreaking 1974 album has been sampled by Public Enemy and covered by Widespread Panic, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Grateful Dead.
