The 4th of July week brings a stacked run of four performances to the Vilar Performing Arts Center, giving Beaver Creek visitors and locals alike four reasons to build their holiday plans around live entertainment.

The lineup kicks off July 1 with bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, continues July 2 with GRAMMY-nominated soul singer James Hunter in the Vilar’s intimate Presented Onstage format, and rounds out the official 4th of July stretch on July 5 with the visual spectacle of MOMIX: Botanica. For those looking to extend their holiday getaway, Electric Avenue: The 80’s MTV Experience keeps the celebration going into the following week with a performance on July 8.

“The 4th of July holiday is one of the busiest stretches of the year in Beaver Creek, and our lineup matches that energy with truly something for everyone,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “Our Independence Day shows run the gamut from bluegrass royalty to soul to dance theater to 80s nostalgia. Whether guests are here for the holiday itself or staying through the following week, there’s a reason to come back to the Vilar more than once.”

Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder
Wednesday, July 1, 2026 | 7:00 PMFifteen-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Ricky Skaggs is one of the most decorated figures in country and bluegrass music history. He got his start in bluegrass alongside genre pioneers Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley before going on to a chart-topping run in mainstream country in the 1980s. Backed by his award-winning band Kentucky Thunder, Skaggs brings six decades of musical mastery to the Vilar stage.This show is part of the Vilar’s Pick 3 (10% off) and Pick 5 (15% off) ticket bundle packages.

The James Hunter Six (Presented Onstage)
Thursday, July 2, 2026 | 7:00 PMGRAMMY-nominated British singer, songwriter, and guitarist James Hunter has been a fixture of the international soul scene for over three decades, earning acclaim for his gritty voice, sharp songwriting, and timeless rhythm & soul sound. Crowned the UK’s “Greatest Soul Singer” by MOJO Magazine, Hunter and his six-piece band have shared stages with legends including Aretha Franklin, BB King, and Etta James. Their latest album, Off The Fence, features a duet with longtime collaborator Van Morrison.This performance is part of the Vilar’s Presented Onstage format, which places the audience directly on the mainstage with the band, transforming the theater into a private jazz club where every lyric and horn line lands just feet away.

Tickets are offered as General Admission theater-style seating closest to the artists, or as Reserved Tables positioned along the back of the stage, which include ideal sightlines, the comfort of a private table, and a dedicated server.

MOMIX: Botanica
Sunday, July 5, 2026 | 7:00 PMUnder the direction of choreographer Moses Pendleton, MOMIX returns to the Vilar with Botanica, a visually dazzling journey through the four seasons set to an eclectic score ranging from birdsong to Vivaldi. Imaginative costumes, projections, and custom-made puppetry combine for a show The New York Times calls the “IMAX version of dance theater.”This show is part of the Vilar’s Pick 3 (10% off) and Pick 5 (15% off), and Ticket 4-Pack bundle packages.

Electric Avenue: The 80’s MTV Experience
Wednesday, July 8, 2026 | 7:00 PMFor those sticking around Beaver Creek after the holiday, Electric Avenue keeps the celebration going with an authentic recreation of 1980s New Wave and radio pop hits, performed on vintage synthesizers and rare signal processors. The orchestra pit will be open to all so that concertgoers can dance the night away.
