Legendary rock band FOREIGNER coming to the Vilar Performing Arts Center

Date: August 26, 2025
Author: Vilar Performing Arts Center

Multi-platinum superstars will perform stripped-down acoustic versions of classic anthems for two nights in February

foreignerRock legends FOREIGNER will transform their biggest hits into intimate acoustic experiences during two “THE HITS UNPLUGGED” performances at the Vilar Performing Arts Center on February 25 and 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM. In a dramatic departure from their arena spectacles, the multi-platinum superstars will reimagine classics like “I Want To Know What Love Is” and “Juke Box Hero” in the venue’s remarkably intimate 535-seat theater.

The stripped-down format promises to showcase FOREIGNER’s timeless songwriting in an entirely new light, revealing new emotional depths and showcasing new dimensions of beloved songs that have defined rock music for generations.

“Experiencing FOREIGNER’s songs in an acoustic format will be absolutely transformative for fans,” said Owen Hutchinson, Artistic Director at the Vilar. “These songs were built on incredible melodies and lyrics that can absolutely stand on their own. The acoustic format will showcase these songs in a completely different way, with guitar work and vocal nuances that get lost in a full electric show. Attendees are in for something truly magical.”

With 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and over 80 million records sold worldwide, FOREIGNER is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world. The band is responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” and “Feels Like The First Time,” all of which take on new meaning when performed acoustically.

“FOREIGNER’s catalog represents the very best of arena rock, and hosting these legends at the Vilar continues our tradition of bringing rock’s biggest names to our mountain community,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director at the Vilar. “It’s incredibly rare to find a venue of our size that consistently attracts artists of this magnitude, and FOREIGNER will be the 36th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee to perform at the Vilar.

The February performances continue the Vilar’s impressive streak of attracting rock legends to Colorado’s high country. This past summer featured performances from Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Elvis Costello & The Imposters, while previous seasons have welcomed iconic acts including Cheap Trick, Styx, Kansas, Ringo Starr, and more.

Nearly 50 years into their career, FOREIGNER’s cultural impact remains undeniable. Their songs generate over 15 million audio and video streams weekly, and their catalog sales regularly outpace rock titans like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and the Rolling Stones. Business Insider recently ranked them among the Top 40 Best Selling Music Artists of All Time.

Luis Maldonado was recently announced as the band’s new lead singer, which also includes noted Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, guitarist Bruce Watson, and Chris Frazier on drums.

Tickets for both FOREIGNER: THE HITS UNPLUGGED performances go on sale Friday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. MDT. For more information about the Vilar’s schedule and to purchase tickets, visit vilarpac.org or call the box office at 970-845-8497.
