Beaver Creek, Colo., September 3, 2026 – The Vail Valley Foundation today announced three of the Vilar Performing Arts Center’s 2026 holiday offerings, bringing the sounds of the season to Beaver Creek with Frisson’s “Christmas by Candlelight,” Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and John Oates & The Good Road Band.
“Sharing the holidays in the mountains is special, and we love giving audiences different ways to celebrate together at the Vilar,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director of the Vilar Performing Arts Center. “From holiday classics performed by candlelight to the timeless story of A Christmas Carol and an evening with a rock-and-roll legend, these performances offer something for locals and visitors alike throughout the holiday season.”

Frisson: “Christmas by Candlelight”
Sunday, Dec. 20, 2026 | 6:30 p.m.
Eleven-piece ensemble Frisson kicks off the holidays with an evening of beloved seasonal classics, including selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, alongside festive instrumental favorites and contemporary holiday pieces. The performance concludes with an audience sing-along of beloved carols.
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2026 | 3:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.
This theatrical adaptation of Dickens’ holiday classic follows Ebenezer Scrooge on his transformative Christmas Eve journey, guided by the spirits of Jacob Marley and Christmas Past, Present, and Future. A nationally selected cast in period costumes performs against projected atmospheric London backdrops, with choral arrangements of traditional carols woven throughout. The two-hour, family-friendly production blends heartfelt storytelling with striking light and sound effects and larger-than-life puppetry.
John Oates & The Good Road Band
Monday, Dec. 28, 2026 | 7:00 p.m.
The Vilar’s holiday season continues with John Oates & The Good Road Band, celebrating Oates’ quarter-century solo career following the release of his self-titled album OATES. The setlist draws from his eight solo albums and incorporates classic R&B and rock hits alongside selections from his legendary Hall & Oates era. Kevin Danzig and the Gandy Dancer Trio open the show.
Tickets for these four performances are on sale now. Frisson’s “Christmas by Candlelight” and both performances of A Christmas Carol are eligible for the Vilar’s student rate and ticket 4-pack bundle, offering savings when purchasing tickets in groups of four.
Throughout the season, the Vilar will once again display its signature holiday tree in the lower lobby. The tree, a Vilar tradition since 1998, features over 9,000 lights and is adorned with the mountain critter ornaments including a beaver, skunk, fox and squirrel.
